Marriages
One thing I have noticed is that we as Christians, need to pray for our marriages. They are really being attacked right now. It can be over anything - temptation, financial stress, work, etc. Satan is hammering away at causing conflict in our marriages and we need to fight back! Pray!!! Ask God for His help! He wants to help us. Yes, divorce happens and sometimes it is for the best. But, be sure to consult Him first. The Book of Ephesians is all about what marriage should be. Read it. We are starting a bible study on this in our marriage group and ever since we brought this up, several marriages in the group have had trouble. Satan is scared and he is causing trouble but God is more powerful and this will be a successful bible study. I truly believe that. Lift your marriage up in prayer - ask for God's protection over it and to strengthen your relationship. It is a daily battle.

Cyber Bullying
Ok, first off, what happened to just being nice?! What the heck? I know the old saying is getting old, but your mother's advice back in the day still holds true today as it did 100 years ago " If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all." I realize that when someone says something mean or vicsious at you, you want to defend yourself. I totally get that. But, I am mainly speaking to the person that said something in the first place; the one who gets it started. You know that voice goes off inside your head or that feeling you get in your gut that tells you, nope, this may not go over well if I let this happen or if I say that. That is your conscience. That is the little voice of God saying, Uh Uh Uh, don't do that. Now, more of us should listen and I am not Miss Innocent in this. I too have fallen into that trap but I can honestly say that I have never physically attacked anyone or verbally abused anyone. That is vicious and just plain mean.
Is it too hard for parents to teach manners anymore? To teach their children that curse words are not ok, that they show the trash inside. Plus, I'm sorry, it just sounds trashy. Hearing people dropping F-bombs every other word, just awful. Again, I'm not a prude, I have spoken the occasional cuss word, and will. No one is perfect. But, when people use them as an adjective to every other word, come on!
Then, who said it was ok, to not pick on other kids at school, etc? That was the way it was long ago and it wasn't right then and it certainly isn't right now. Now those kids can't even get away from it at home, they are being attacked online. Are you kidding me?!! What kind of coward and immature person feels like they have the right to do that to anyone? They don't! I know these kids get a thrill out of all the attention they get by attacking someone with lower self esteem than themselves. They thrive on it. Now, they invent Facebook pages, Myspace pages, etc. to bully these innocent kids. It's obvious that they themselves have the real issue. In order for them to make themselves feel better about themselves, more confident, the need for attention, they attack others. It is like a demon taking pleasure in seeing this person suffer. That is exactly what it is.
This has to stop. Parents, listen up, start while they are young. Teach your children respect of others. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Don't hang around others that treat people badly. Get involved in your childrens lives. Know who their friends are. Know where they are, especially online! Online is where they feel untouchable. You must monitor it, whether they are 10 or 18. Too bad if they don't like it. You are their parent, not their a school friend.
This cyber bullying has to stop! This is totally a new age. It's an online era and the social interaction is different for our children. You want to protect your child from any harm and now harm can come from the internet. In more ways than one. Stop the abuse!

Larry King
Ok, is it just me or is it just disgusting to think of Larry King having an affair?!! I mean come on, isn't he like pushing 80? He looks 90 to me but I just don't understand these women who are attracted to him. Obviously, money is the attractive factor here but I would think that after 8 wives, he'd be pushing broke by now. Plus, he has children! His wife or soon to be ex is BEAUTIFUL. I just don't get it! The thought of him being intimate makes me vomit in my mouth! Sorry, it does though. I cringe at the thought of any woman finding him attractive. I know, I shouldn't judge and I don't think I am, I just find him repulsive and there is an obvious commitment issue with him. I think he should just learn to be happy by himself. But, seeing his track record, I doubt that will happen. He is one of those people that just can't be alone. Even for a little while. Why is that? Don't people learn from mistakes? Sometimes, those that seem to be so smart can be such idiots!

It's Hard to Adjust
Some days are better than others, but every now and then, well, for lack of other words, it just plain sucks. I should be used to moving I guess. I look back on my life and I have moved a total of 5 times. All within the state of Texas, but Texas is a big state. I am lucky to be closer to my hometown now. For a while there, I lived almost 6 hours from home. My kids were born up there and I'd be lying if I said I don't miss it from time to time. Each time we have moved, we ended up living there for a while. Long enough to start a life...new friends, new home, new church, had a routine going. Then, change. It was work related. The move. Fortunately, we were moving back to my husband's hometown, the same town we had lived in previously...the same one I had attended college. I didn't know what to expect. All my friends I had left way back then had moved away. I looked forward to it, but I missed my friends. They were like family to us. I knew that once we moved, our seeing eachother was going to grow slim. But, we shall always remain friends. Thank goodness for Facebook! Ha!
It took a while to get started making our new life. We were so poor. My husband took an incredible paycut to move there and basically start over as a salesman in his company. He does such an amazing job. Our house back in our other town wasn't selling. It took 5 long months and 3 contracts to finally sell. I know he was so frustrated. It was a very stressful time. He was worried about his job and money. We only had one car. We had two small children and were renting a house that we were barely getting by with. Depression was always lurking for both of us. Life was just not good at that point. But, slowly, things changed. We made friends. We found a church home again. My husband received a promotion after only 3 months of moving. With that came a raise and with that came a second car. Yay, things were looking up. Before long we bought our next home. The kids started school and more friends emerged. PTA and dance recitals made up my life for a while. Again, my husband earned another promotion. He was climbing the cooperate ladder and feeling good. But with that new promotion came more responsibility and more pressures. Stress remained. Life goes on.
Once again, my husband earned another promotion. This one came with another move. 4 1/2 hours away, but closer to my hometown. I was excited but saw the looks of my friends I had come so close to. Some cried and others rallied behind us. Luckily, we still have family there, and my husbands company is based there so we travel back about once a month. Not too bad. It is just those inbetween times that get hard. This school system is different. I haven't made alot of friends yet, but I know they will come. We have a new church and are involved in it. We joined a home group and have met lots of people our age.
Here's my checklist for what you need after moving to a new town:
1. Church home (if you go)
2. Doctor
3. good hairstylist
4. good mechanic
5. dentist
6. reliable babysitter!!!
You never realized these things until you no longer have them. Kind of like your friends. Yeah, sure, I can call them whenever. It is just the quiet times, or the weekends that I miss. Those times you can say "Hey, what are yall doing this weekend? Wanna go grab some dinner or drinks? or Yall come hang out with us tonight, we'll order the pizza!" We love to entertain and we haven't had that opportunity yet. We finally sold our home after 15 months of trying finally ending in Feb. We have been actively looking for a home to buy and just now have a contract on one after 2 contracts fell through. I never knew buying a home had to be soooo hard. Nothing wrong on our end, first guy didn't want to fix anything after the inspection and the 2nd realtor never showed our contract to the owner! Never had that happen before. Crazy! But this time, the seller never even countered. Took our contract the way we asked for it. Hopefully that is a sign from God...that this is our home! That is the way I'm taking it. I have a peace about it.
Hopefully this will be it for a while. I miss my friends but I love making new ones too. I love being so close to my mom and family. I love being close to the big city as well, so much to do. Plus, my best friend lives in the city and we see eachother more now than we have in years. My husbands best friend lives there as well. So that is nice. I am excited for what our new town has to offer my family. Hopefully, the loneliness will end soon. It will, always does.

When to Email and When Not to Email
Ok, so I had to write about this one because this just happened. It got me so fuming mad and I know I should have just blown it off but it effects so many people, including my mother, so I can't help it.
Basically the story goes like this.... my mother sent out an email to her "list" asking for prayer for our country. My mother is a Christian as well as I and the majority on her list are as well. All except for a small number and there is one of those that is very vocal about anything religious or political. You may have heard the saying, "Not to mix friendship talk with 2 things, religion and politics because someone will end up getting offended." Well this was all too true the other day. I think my mom didn't think anything of it because she sent it to her list of family and friends and this particular person is one of her oldest friends. Keep in mind, this was a simple email to pray for our country. Well, this friend emailed back to the list of people, to keep in mind that there are other faiths besides Christianity. Ok, that totally hacked off not only my mom but the majority of the email list. I should also say, that this friend doesn't even have a faith, she is an athiest! So why gripe!!!? Why make it an issue?! I'll tell you why she made it an issue... because Satan hates when Christians come together. He was feeling outnumbered and attacked and what better way to defend himself and to cause tension than to attack.
I normally don't even reply to these emails because this person has said things like this before. My mom, on the otherhand, immediately responded and let the woman know she would not be getting anymore of these emails from her. Probably the correct thing to do. I, on the other, had couldn't let it go this time. I probably should have but something inside me said, "No! Not this time! Why do we as Christians have to silence ourselves?! Especially when we are asking for prayer to benefit our country!? No, we will not be quiet! You be quiet if you don't want to pray or are not of Christian faith!" We respect the right she has to not have any faith, that is her God given right. She can believe whatever she wants to believe, no one asked her to believe in Christ. It's not like my mom was emailing out The Sinners Prayer and asking everyone to sign it! I mean, come on here! So anyways, I caved in and wrote back stating that we Christians will not be quiet and basically, if we want to have support of prayer for our country, they we can ask for it. I was tired of her silencing my mom. A couple of others emailed more to her. Oh this just fueled her fire. I figured as much. She shot back quoting a scripture. My mom warned me about this, that her friend has read the bible cover to cover many times and could win any Jeapordy question on the subject. Most athiests have read the bible in completion. I informed the woman that I was not interested in getting into a Bible debate with her but that she didn't understand the meaning of the scripture she chose. She tried to debate that Christians should not pray in public, instead inside, in private. NOT TRUE! Sorry to tell ya, so not true! In the same book of Matthew Jesus said that where there are two or more gathered together in His name, they shall have what they ask. Jesus asked us to come together in prayer. This is what my mom was doing. Asking her fellow family and close friends to come together in prayer.
So, a few other people on the list chimed in and asked this friend to remove them from her email list. This just infuriated the woman. She wrote a huge email back, quoting scripture. Honestly, I couldn't tell you what it said because I didn't read it. I had told her that I wasn't going to debate her but Satan is always ready for a fight. Oh how Satan loathes Christians.
I called my mother and left her a message on her machine about what had happened. Just warning her that it had blown up. I also emailed her. I tried calling her again when I knew she would be home but she didn't answer. Now I think she is upset with me. What the heck?!! Do I wish this whole thing would have happened, no! But if you are going to get mad at me for defending you, God and other Christians, I will not apologize for it, I will not do it! I stood up for what is right and if this woman was unhappy about my moms email which was intended for Christian prayer, then she should have deleted it! Her response was unnecessary.
Yes, I know there are other religions out there. Yes, I believe they are free to worship and practice their faith. This friend has the right to be an athiest as well. Her call. But, this email wasn't to any other religion, it was to Christians to pray. If she isn't a Christian, then ignore it, delete it, or email my mom and ask her to take her name off the list. My mother will not be sending her anymore Christian emails. No, this one shouldn't have been sent to her in the first place. Hard lesson learned.
God said something else about differing faiths - He said that people mistake him for being a peaceful God. He didn't send Jesus to Earth to make peace, He came with a sword causing friends and even family members to wage war against one another. It doesn't mean they will be enemies or hate eachother for life. It just means, these different faiths will not agree. Jesus warned of this happening.
This was a very hard lesson for all of us involved. Not sure what will come of it. I'll keep ya posted!
Think I'll pray about it!! Ha! Cuz I can!

Tiger Woods
Ok, so I'm so tired of the scandal of Tiger Woods already. The Masters, an iconic tournament, has become a media zoo. My feelings on his situation is that he was wrong, he got caught, he knows he was wrong... But this is between him & his wife. Unfortunately, he's a rolemodel & now he's become one that has joined so many others, those that may have a spectacular gift but fail miserably in their personal life. What he doesn't see is that, once you achieve celeb status, you no longer have a "personal life". It's all public. Obviously he's found that out all too well.
As a Christian, I say a prayer for he & his family. As for all the media attention, I try to ignore it. It's hard when it's on all the time & on just about every channel.
Time will pass & the memory will fade. The reporters will still be around but a new story will make headlines & they'll move on.
Question... Does anyone else think a source could have conveniently "planted" some evidence on Jessie James?? Just a thought.

Celeb Affairs
Ok, is anyone else just totally digusted here?! I have no doubt that Tiger Woods wasn't the first and Jessie James won't be the last. I just hate that these wives have to go through the public humiliation of it all. These women are not girlfriends, casual flings; they're their WIVES!!!! Why even get married if you're just going to go out & have sex with every bimbo out there??!! Huh?!! Elin & Sandra are beautiful women. They deserve better. Plus, Tiger has a family. Do they count? Do they matter? They want to be "private" after they get caught, but guess what?? YOU ARE A CELEBRITY!!! They sure don't mind being famous until they are doing something wrong & they get caught doing it.
It's just sad. Sad & wrong! Marriage has a set of rules - to love & cherish, to honor & obey, to love one another, not foresake one another, till death do you part. If your going to break one of these vows, especially over and over again, get a divorce! They deserve to not be treated that way.
Personally, I'm tired of hearing about it. I've lost all respect for both men, Tiger & Jessie. They disgust me. And these gross bimbos they hook up with that do the most degrading things with them & feel like they are "special". Get real. You were a cheap thrill & that's it! You were used, plain & simple! Now, the slight hope of fame & fortune is gone. Get over it! Tramps! Yes they are. Home wrecking tramps & the men are just as guilty!
The trust will be forever gone. But we should pray that if they do try to work it out, that they have Gods help. They will need it.
I don't care really what these celebs do really until it effects what my children see or feel. Then it bothers me. It bothers me when these people are looked up to as role models. They may not want to be thought of that way but deep down I think they did until they royally screwed up.
